The Eastern Irrigation Scheme recycles 3.5% of the treated water from Melbourne 's Eastern Treatment Plant - a significant contribution to the Victorian Government's target of 20% water recycling by 2010.

Class A recycled water is distributed through a 60 km pipeline network to over 70 customers
in a 170 square km area around Cranbourne.
